This site is a community board. It introduces people to each other and does nothing else. Reading these terms should take a few minutes, so they are written plainly rather than defensively.
What this service is
A board where people with housing post what they can offer and displaced households post what they need, and the two sides message each other directly.
It is not a housing placement agency, a landlord, a property manager, or a real estate broker. Nobody here places you, assigns you a caseworker, or holds a waitlist. Any rental agreement is between you and the other person.
Nothing here is verified
Nobody from this site inspects a property, meets a person, checks identity, screens a tenant, or confirms that a listing is still available. Posts are labelled “Community submitted” because that is exactly what they are.
Publishing a post is not approval of it. An administrator removing a post is not a judgment about a person.
This is not an emergency service
No one monitors this site around the clock. For an emergency call 911. For shelter, food and disaster assistance call 211, which is staffed and needs no account.
No money moves through this site
No deposits, rent, application fees, contractor payments or donations are ever collected here, and nobody from this site will ask you to send money. Anyone who does is not us. Report it.
A request to wire money, pay a deposit before seeing a property, or move the conversation to another platform is the most common pattern in housing fraud after a disaster. Treat it as a warning sign.
Fair housing
Listings must describe the property, not who should live in it. Federal law and the Washington Law Against Discrimination both apply, and Washington is stricter. Posts are checked against a fair-housing word list before publishing; passing that check is not legal advice and does not make a post lawful.
Accuracy, and what you post
Post only housing you actually control and needs that are actually yours. Keep availability current — close or pause a post the moment it is no longer true. Posts expire on their own so the board does not fill with places that have gone.
You keep ownership of what you write. You give this site permission to display it as described in the Privacy page for as long as your post is active.
Reporting, removal and accounts
Anyone can report a public post. A conversation can be reported only by one of the two people in it — the database refuses a conversation report from anyone else, and individual messages cannot be reported separately.
Reports enter the moderator queue. That is a queue, not a promise: nobody is on duty around the clock and no response time is guaranteed. An administrator may remove content, and removal is recorded. A removed post cannot be edited, resumed or replaced while it is removed.
You may stop using the site at any time and close your posts.
Outside organisations
Some pages link to outside organisations — property managers, contractors, fundraisers, government resources. Those links are information, not endorsement. Their services, eligibility and fees are theirs to set, and any agreement you make is with them.
Where an outside organisation represents someone else’s interests rather than yours, the page saying so will say so.
Compensation
This site receives no payment from anyone listed on it, and no listing position is for sale. If that ever changes, the compensation will be disclosed on the page where it applies, before you act on it.
Disputes and limits
The site is provided as-is by volunteers during a disaster. It cannot guarantee that it will be available, that a post is truthful, or that you will find housing.
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Washington. If something here conflicts with a right you have under Washington law, the law wins.
