Insurance information
If you had renters or homeowners insurance, it may cover temporary housing — usually called additional living expenses, or ALE. This site is not an insurer and does not give insurance advice; the regulator below does, for free.
We have not compiled this list yet
Rather than copy another organisation’s directory, we are building this from primary sources with a recorded check date on every entry. It is not ready, and we would rather say so than publish a list we cannot stand behind.
In the meantime:
- Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner (opens in a new tab) — Free consumer help line. They answer coverage questions and take complaints about how a claim is being handled — this is the right first call.
- OIC — wildfire and disaster claim help (opens in a new tab) — Guidance written for people who have just lost a home.
Our own community board is separate from this page. Browse housing neighbours have offered.
